Week 1 (Sept 5 – 6)
Thursday

  • Warmup  – pick up syllabus and media release form
  • Be familiar with syllabus, especially understanding grading policy
  • Homework – Return signed media release by tomorrow, Friday
  • Homework – Have all school supplies by next Friday

Friday

  • Warmup – Get out a piece of paper, title it “Vocab Intro to Tech 1st Six Weeks.” Write the date and the word “warm-up.” Next to the word “warm-up” write what you think a warm-up is.
  • learn warmup expectations – discuss the written warm-up, then play Loopy Liz to practice physical/vocal warm-ups
  • Take a tour of our “classroom” -A, including Classroom Best Practices
  • learn about All-Stars -A
  • learn classroom procedures
  • Assessment – collect signed media release (completion)
  • Homework – Have all school supplies by Friday

Week 2 (Sept 9 – 13)

Monday

  • Warmup – Get out your vocab document, write the date and the word “audience etiquette.” Next to the word “audience etiquette” write what you think audience etiquette is.
  • create skits for Classroom Best Practices

  • understand and practice constructive feedback
  • Assessment – Skit (0-3), Audience Etiquette (0-3), Constructive Feedback (0-3)
  • Homework – Have all school supplies by Friday

Tuesday

  • Warmup – Get out your vocab document, write the date and the word “constructive feedback.” Next to the word “constructive feedback” write what you think constructive feedback is.

Wednesday

  • Warmup – Get out a piece of paper, title it “Free-write Intro to Tech 1st Six Weeks.” Write the date and then respond to the following prompt: What do you know about Theatre?” Keep writing until Mrs. C or Mr. A tells you to stop.

  • watch short video and write what jobs you think went into making the video; discuss
  • Homework – Have all school supplies by Friday

Thursday

  • Warmup – Get out your free-write document, write the date and respond to the following prompt: “How do you organize a production team?” Keep writing until Mrs. C or Mr. A tells you to stop.
  • recognize the relationships of the production staff by graphing your prediction and discussing

Week 3 (Sept 16 – 20)

Monday

  • Warmup – Get out your free-write document, write the date and then respond to the prompt: “Which job would you prefer and why?” Keep writing until Mrs. C or Mr. A tells you to stop.
  • Learn about production team jobs
  • Informal quiz over production team jobs

Tuesday

  • Warmup – Get out your free-write document, write the date and then respond to the prompt: “Which job do you think is more important and why?” Keep writing until Mrs. C or Mr. A tells you to stop.
  • Break into groups (one for each job) and invent a mnemonic device that helps the other students learn your job
  • Present mnemonic devices

Wednesday

  • Warmup – Get out your vocab document, write the date and the word “self-discipline.” Next to the word “self-discipline” write what you think constructive feedback is.
  • Present mnemonic devices
  • Study for Quiz tomorrow

Thursday

  • Warmup – Make sure you are ready for your quiz
  • Quiz over production team
  • Play Murder
